Shock your friends' taste buds with a tangy sweet take on traditional guacamole. Feijoas add a tropical touch of pineapple. Aloha and olé!
3 feijoas
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 small avocado (preferably California avocado), peeled and finely diced
1/2 medium red onion, peeled and finely diced
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh mint
1 red Fresno chile, finely diced, to taste
Salt, to taste
Halve feijoas lengthwise, scoop out flesh with spoon, and finely dice. Toss immediately in medium-sized bowl with lemon juice to prevent browning. Add remainder of ingredients and gently toss. Season to taste. Serve with chips or a pork dish.
