1 ripe banana, mashed
About 1/3 cup chocolate hazelnut spread such as Nutella
12 to 16 pieces Frieda’s Wonton Wrappers
1 egg, beaten, or water, for sealing
Vegetable oil, for frying
Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
To stuff a wonton, place wrapper with corner pointing toward you. Spoon about 1/2 tablespoon each of banana and chocolate hazelnut spread onto center. Moisten top edges of wrap with either egg or water. Fold bottom corner up to top to form triangle. Press around filling to let out excess air, then press edges together for tight seal.
Repeat with remaining wonton wrappers and filling.
Place finished wontons on parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Cover with damp paper towel to prevent wrappers from drying out.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
In frying pan, add oil to about 1-inch deep, and heat over medium heat (to about 350 degrees). Working in batches, carefully add wontons to oil and cook each side until golden brown. Transfer cooked wontons to plate lined with paper towels to drain.
To keep warm, transfer wontons to baking sheet and keep in oven.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired. Serve warm.
